"Fibre To The Home (FTTH)"
New concept, simple cables.
Tratos introduces a new series of optical cables especially designed for last mile network cabling. Considering the increasing development of broadband services, this type of cable will be one of the most rapidly developing sectors in the next few years.
With FTTH, Tratos provides a simple solution for different installation systems.
These cables are designed to be used inside buildings to connect individual flats.The cables run vertically from the bottom to the top of the building and one or more of the cables in the bundle can be branched off at any point and connected to the end user. Compressed air can be used to blow into pre-installed tubes when fitting.
As the next step in the FTTH system solution, Tratos Cavi Spa has developed the wiring of single and multi-dwelling family units with fiber optic cables and connectivity inside the building from the outside plant cable to terminate at the customer's interface. A complete indoor fiber solution has also been developed, that can be incorporated in the production range.
The deployment of FTTH raises many challenges, as well as opportunities, in these environments as building infrastructures can be designed very differently.
In brownfield applications FTTH wiring is very often installed as the third network infrastructure in a building where, in the past, twisted pair copper and coax cabling would have been installed.
SUMMARY OF ADVANTAGES
- Very compact to fit into small conduits and building floor access points;
- Extremely flexible small diameter cables in combination with miniaturised cable accessories;
- Reduced need for on-site pre-audits;
- The horizontal drop cables can be pulled through existing ducts due to their renforcement;
- A reduced amount of connectivity points (splices, connectors) shortens the installation time;
- The time spent inside the customer's premises is minimized;
- Optimized for brownfield construction networks.
