Our current product range includes:

Tratos Oil and Gas
In order to meet cable demand in this sector, technical expertise and knowledge of worldwide regulations are fundamental requirements for the manufacturer.
Usually, products must abide by national, international and industry based specifications. Many high-tech materials are needed to meet the requirements of the sector and different types of cables must be approved by certifying bodies. Tratos offers a wide range of cables designed to meet numerous standards including Lloyd’s for Mud Resistant types, as well as British and European standards including BS6883, NEK 606 & UKOOA. In the oil and gas sector, one of the key challenges is corrosion caused by many of the substances that cables come into contact with such as acids, solvents, hydrocarbons and moisture, all of which can cause significant damage if allowed to seep through the cable. We include a longitudinal double aluminium tape barrier in some of our designs to solve this problem, which is far lighter and more cost effective than the alternative of corrugated metal tapes and lead sheaths.

Plant and Petrochemical
From power stations to transport networks, from refineries to their control centres. We can supply cables for energy, data and signal transmission for any industrial equipment. We offer a complete package of products which help our customers to streamline their network design and increase supply efficiency.

Undersea Optical Cables
For the first time we have manufactured a single optical cable over 19 km long to be laid undersea. This was made possible thanks to our recently built new production site and the installation of new armouring and sheathing plant and winding structures capable of handling reels with a flange diameter of up to 4 metres. This production process has involved the plant for over six months, with 3 shifts per day and the constant engagement of a production team of over 40 people. This subsea optical cable covering a distance of over 19 kilometres connects a mooring in the upper part of the Adriatic Sea for ships transporting liquid gas to an inland re-gassification centre.

Cables for umbilical applications
An umbilical is a set of hoses, electrical cables and tubes that transport hydraulic and chemical injection fluids, as well as electrically transmitted signals and power. Its function is to activate opening and closing mechanisms in the subsea oil and gas production equipment monitoring the well’s characteristics (temperature and pressure).
TRATOS CAVI in co-operation with MFX of Brazil produces hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electrical umbilicals that are able to carry out diverse activities for controlling chemical processes and injections for subsea oil and gas extraction in wells located at depths up to 2000 metres. For specific application umbilicals have been qualified for depths of 3000 metres. MFX has already produced more than 500 km of umbilicals – all of which, from the earliest to the most recent production, are functioning normally and fully complying with the functions for which they were designed.

Armaflex
TRATOS ARMAFLEX can be used in both dry and wet locations; in ventilated, non- ventilated and ladder type cable ducting. It is also suitable for direct burial. Quantities start from as little as 100 mtr and up to 1500 mtr in a continuous length. The interlocking armour is available in both Aluminium and Galvanised Steel upon request with a range of elements for use in automation, control, lighting, data, coaxial, fire resistant and power. The sheathing materials available include Low Smoke Zero Halogen, MDPE and PVC; the interlocking armour is available in a range of sizes with an internal diameter of 8.5mm up to 33.50mm with other sizes available upon request. The TRATOS group of companies has been manufacturing cables since 1966; with over 40 years of cable production and an experienced team of engineering, production, quality and sales professionals ensuring that high standards of design quality and service are maintained throughout the whole manufacturing process from the drawing of the copper conductors up to delivery. TRATOS are able to offer a range of cables with flexible interlocked armour, manufactured in the UK to suit our customers’ specific requirements; suitable for a wide range of industrial applications including refineries, petrochemical and chemical processing plants, and factory environments where corrosion and mechanical abuse are prevalent.
